Profesor Modi campaigning for Barack Obama

So what’s been up with our boy Kal Penn lately??? Well, he finished teaching a course at University of Pennsylvania called “Images of Asian Americans in the Media”. By the way, according to Wikipedia, Professor Modi which he required his students to call him was a bit of an anal professor. At least he finds ways to get respect. His movie roles have been laughable at best. Don’t get me wrong Harold and Kumar 1 and 2 were funny, but The Rise of Taj and his minor role in Epic Movie is pushing it a little too far. It’s starting to get repetitive. His best movie had to be Mira Nair’s the Namesake, and I doubt many non-Indians even saw it. Unfortunately, his next movie looks to follow the trend of his previous roles. It’s called Under New Management, and Kal plays an employee who sends his boss on a sex cruise, and follows it up by turning the office into party central. Hmm..let’s hope Kal starts getting some “more diverse” roles. Hey even an action movie would be a start,and he would be forced to get into shape. He should pick up some Independent roles, to change the perception of Hollywood; otherwise his career may very well soon enter oblivion.

Well aside from his illustrious movie career, Penn is campaining for Barack Obama. So far he’s been all over Virginia, rousing up crowds everywhere. Scarlett Johanson even quoted him as one of Obama’s Hollywood “heavy hitters”. He can definitely attract young voters, especially minority voters..so it’s not a bad deal for Barack at all. And I respect Penn’s passion, and hopefully it garners more positive attention, and consideration for serious movie roles.

Deepika Padukone is Heating up!

Deepika Padukone, the beautiful 5'9" model turned actress was featured on the front cover of Maxim India for August 2008. Heralded by some in the States as the Indian Michelle Pfeiffer, Deepika has been in only two movies, Om Shanti Om, and Bachna Ae Haseeno, but her sultry persona has garnered the attention of the masses! She just completed the film "Chandni Chowk to China" and is currently filming "Billo Barber". Watch out for this rising star, who may one day reach international stardom.

Honestly, I find her more stunning than Priyanka Chopra or Aishwarya Rai. Her gazelle like body, and natural beauty provide Bollywood with an endearing fresh face for the future.

Jeev Milkha Singh Makes India Proud At The PGA Championship

Jeev Milkha Singh is continuing to make India proud and gaining notoriety in the golf world. He finished five over and was tied ninth overall at the PGA championship at Oak Hills. Honestly, Vijay Singh’s twelve over, and missed cut helped garner further attention in the US media and shows like Sportscenter, Fox Sports, and ESPN that highlighted their shared last name. But this doesn’t underscore the fact that his performance was the highest EVER by an Indian golfer in a major championship. What makes the performance more impressive is the fact Jeev reportedly played with an inflamed ankle. Jeev is going to be an exciting golfer to watch in months to come!

Sunny Leone will be appearing in the Jayashree Cine international movie Pirates Blood. Don't get me wrong she is gorgeous, and I have to agree with the Arabic press in that she may have a Marilyn Monroe like presence. But it shows you that India when it comes down to it will be a nation of capatalisim and will not stay loyal to the conservative principals of the past. In my opinion, Richard Gere's "smooch" with Shilpa Shetty is an absolute joke compared to letting a porn star in Bollywood!!

Sunny Leone and Priya Rai? Not your average Bollywood stars..

Ever hear of Sunny Leone or Priya Rai?? No, they’re not Bollywood Stars. In fact, they are anomalies in the porn industry. Two sweet girls from traditionally Indian families that decided to make their money doing the nasty.

Leone ,a fellow Punjabi, is a Canadian who was studying to be a pediatric nurse and was subsequently introduced to a Penthouse photographer. From there, her career took off, as she appeared scantily nude in an array of magazines including Cheri, Mystique, High Society, Swank, AVN and too many more to list. From there, she agreed to sign a contract with Vivid entertainment movies, stating she would only do lesbian scenes. However, just last year she did a film with male pornographic star and ex-fiance Matt Erikson. She now has fully broken away from the traditionally Indian conservative mystique and is doing films with various male actors in the industry. In fact, she has been linked to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro.


Priya Rai is not quite as mainstream. She was a fashion/swimsuit model and then was introduced to pornographic modeling by a photographer. To be honest, she makes Ms. Leone look like a saint, and I had to do many extra hours of research on her. She has a whopping 40 movies released (and possible many more). All of them are with male stars, and she basically freelances and works with whatever porn company will pay her.

I was astonished to stumble upon these two stunningly beautiful girls. Frankly, I didn’t believe it; since many Indian children have ultra controlling parents who don’t let their daughters so much as look at a boy. But as an Indian male born and raised in the USA, it’s kind of refreshing to have the option to watch exotic movies with girls of my own ethnicity. I mean there have been Asian pornographic stars for sometime now. So I think it just goes to show that Western culture is impacting us, and although stubborn, our image is changing. Who knows how many more Indian porn stars will pop up in the future..I don’t know about you but I’m excited!

Show a little respect a-hole!

Padma Lakshmi is considered by some the first Indian fashion model. She’s from Kerala and was raised in Madras and Ny. She is extremely elegant.. and I absolutely love her presence on Iron Chef!! Her trademark scar on her arm is from a car accident from when she was younger..







Her ex-husband, Salman Rushdie is an acclaimed novelist..he might not be much too look at but he’s brilliant..so chill RAJ and get the facts right!
